The 360, all new from Xero Shoes, is a really cool shoe. For most folks, who are not yet into “natural motion”, barefoot running, etc., the 360 may be the ideal shoe for transitioning OUT of non minimalist shoes
I first wore the 360‘s after two days of trail running in Xero Z-Trail EVs, so my feet were tired and sore. The 360’s felt extra nice.
Some who are more advanced into the minimalist/barefoot fitness may find the outsole on the 360 to be a bit too thick, or less flexible. However, the purpose of the 360 is to offer more protection for tackling more activities. 360 offers zero drop, zero arch support, wide toe box, good traction with a new “omni directional” outsole and a breathable mesh upper with huarache straps set internally within the upper mesh for fine tuning the fit. And, exterior rubber “trim” on the forefoot area to help with rope climbing and to protect the durability of the upper mesh. The 360‘s are relatively light as well.
Very cool. Very clever. Another winner. I think the 360 is a “game changer” for Xero Shoes. This one should bring a large wave of new customers to Xero Shoes at just the right time in the company’s rapid growth process.
Here is my initial video review:
At some point in the future, I’ll do a follow up video after getting more hours in the 360‘s!
While some would say, with valid reasons, that the “best” way to go “minimalist” to to do so purely barefoot, in the real world, to reduce risk, it’s more practical for most people to very slowly and methodically strengthen from the toes, feet and ankles up. The 360‘s are a great option.
